Modern Languages Faculty

Yi graduated from Soochow University, completed the STARTALK Teacher Program (University of Washington Language Learning Center), and participated in the Socially Just World Language Classroom (Continuing Studies Program, Stanford University). She also holds a Senior Chinese Language Teacher certification from IPA.

She has previously served as a Chinese teacher at Seattle Waldorf High School, where her students received numerous awards in state and national competitions and showcases. Prior to that, she taught Chinese in China for 19 years and served as Deputy Principal, and also taught at Eton House International School as the Chinese Coordinator and advanced-level IB instructor. 

Yi has won multiple honors, including the Global Education Model Award and Outstanding Achievement in Cultural Activity Design for K-12 Chinese Classrooms.
