Randy's perpetual education includes a BA in Economics, with an emphasis in Ceramics (Pepperdine University) and an MA/Ed in Curriculum and Instruction in Art, Creativity, and Ceramics (Seattle University).Â
Randy was six years old when he took his first clay class, and he has been captivated by ceramics ever since. Randy is a "founding 7th grader" at ÌÇÐÄlogoÈë¿Ú and first entered the House in 1980. He has studied primitive pit-fired pottery in Central America, Anagama wood firing techniques in Oregon, and contemporary ceramic sculpture as an artist in residence in Shigaraki, Japan.Â
His work is shown at Whitebird Gallery (Cannon Beach), Kobo (Seattle), Art Stop Gallery (Tacoma), and at Clayworks - his Pottery Co-op in Seattle where he shares a studio with five other ceramic artists. His work is in private and corporate collections, and is held by the American Museum of Ceramic Art, and in the Kamm Teapot Collection. Randy has been published in Ceramics Monthly, Pottery Making Illustrated and the Best of American Ceramics exhibition in Beijing.
